Ameriplan Dental Health Plan / Not Insurance

Let's face it, being self employed and getting any type of insurance is a major pain in the rear.

Even as an employee of a company, the dental insurance usually caps at a $1000 a year which does not even cover the cost of a root canal and crown.

I looked at an alternative to dental insurance with Ameriplan. Instead of insurance, if you use a provider on their list you get discounted rates.

If you have a family, those discounts can add up really quick and will more than pay for the cost of the yearly fee.

They also include discounts on eye glasses's, chiropractors and prescriptions

The dental plan is where you will really save some money. If your current dentists is not on it, you can request that they sign up for it. Not all dentists will do it but it is worth a try.

I would recommend a dental plan to anybody and have been using them for the last 3 years.
