Creamy Mushroom Steaks Recipe
For 4 servings you will need:
4-6 small beef top loin steaks, about 1 1/4 lbs.
1 Tbsp butter or margarine
Sauce:
1 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 red or green pepper
1 small chopped onion
1 package fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp onion salt
salt and pepper to taste
Brown butter in a skillet. Add steaks. Brown on both sides until they are tender and done to your liking. Cover. Let steaks simmer for a few minutes in their own juices.
In a heavy saucepan with butter or margarine, cook pepper, onion and mushrooms.
Sprinkle with flour, stir to blend well. Add
half-and-half, stirring a little at a time. Simmer until thick and creamy.
Add soy sauce, onion salt and salt and pepper to taste.
Add mushroom sauce to skillet. Let steaks simmer in the sauce for a couple minutes until they are warm.
Serve with garlic mashed potatoes.
